ROCKING ANIMALS

This is a group project which is a collection of rocking animal children's toys: a giraffe, a hippo and a cow. These are not only physical toys, but they also help children build their creativity when they play with them. The wheels can be adjusted so they can be either a rocking or rolling toy. Inside the toy has a place to store decorations for the animals. The bodies all have some magnetic buttons, so children can create faces on the animals and additionally add a collar or a tail to each one. The body cover has a zip which is easy to take off and put in.

RAWL PLUGS FLOWER LIGHT

I am interested in exploring different kinds of materials to make new products. This is a ceiling light that has been made using builders rawl plugs. It looks like 3 shimmering flowers when looked at under light and the reflection of the light into walls creates an abstract mystery of eerie shadows cascading in all directions.

RECYCLED BICYCLE TIRES BACKPACK

I am also keen on using recycled materials. For example, the front panel decoration of this backpack is made from recycled bicycle tires. The backpack also can be a neat shoulder bag. The inspiration for this pattern is from the brocade pattern used by a Vietnamese ethnic minority. Inside the backpack there is a compartment created from tire inner tubes. These act like rubber bands and can hold things such as a power banks, computer mouse, and charging cables.

THIS IS DYSLEXIA BOOKS

A group project for a film focused event called the Flatpack Film Festival 2020. Elements of this are on the human experience of seeing things differently and to maintain the motion picture theme we chose to use adapted 3d film glasses as used in movie industry. Therefore, we created two books to help people have a more sympathetic understanding about people who suffer from learning disabilities such as dyslexia. This is done using two specially constructed books which we hope will help people understand how dyslexic people see and feel.
